Reference standard

This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Where it costs nothing — body text contrast, for instance, at 7.31:1 on white — we hold the Level AAA ratio.

Conformance status

Partially conformant, self-declared: the site was designed against Level AA and verified, but has not yet been through an independent audit. The checks carried out are:

• automated testing with axe-core on every page in every language the site is published in;
• a complete keyboard path, with focus always visible;
• reflow at 320 px width and 200% zoom without loss of content;
• verification of the contrast ratio of every text/background pair used in the design.

Choices made

• No automatic language redirect. The language is chosen, and the choice stands. The banner offering an alternative language is dismissible, and the dismissal is remembered.
• No flags in the language switcher: a flag identifies a state, not a language.
• No visual CAPTCHA in the contact form when it is enabled. Protection is server-side.
• No autoplay below 768 px and no animation when the operating system reports prefers-reduced-motion. Every video carries a visible pause control.
• No information carried by colour alone: wherever a colour distinguishes a voice or an outcome, the text label sits beside it.
• No third-party resources: fonts, images and video are served from this domain. No tracking.

Known limitations

• The videos on this site are silent by design: they contain no speech, so they carry no captions. What each one shows is described in the accompanying text. Any future video with narration will carry hand-written captions in every language.
• Individual portraits are not yet available; initials-based placeholders stand in for them and are marked as decorative.
• The German version is an editorial translation, pending review by a native South Tyrolean speaker.
• The site is deliberately not indexed by search engines: it is a presentation subdomain, not the corporate site.
